The Love Locks of Mexico City

Greetings Lovelies,

On our recent trip to Mexico City, my partner and I stayed in the heart of Roma Norte. We adored the area! We were located in a building called "Casa de la Brujas" (House of the Witches), across the street from Plaza Rio de Janeiro; a small, but beautiful lively park with lots of activities on the weekends.

Saint Barbara

December 4th is the Feast Day for Saint Barbara!

I am very fortunate to be participating in a celebration at my local Botanica on this fortuitous day!

It is important to note that Saint Barbara is now an unofficial Saint, or a folk Saint, due to the fact that she has been removed from the official church calendar. However, her cults have persisted and many argue that it is because of her popularity in folk magick and spiritual traditions that her reputation is still alive!

The Sacred Spider

As Witches, Metaphysical workers, Pagans, and Spiritualists (who have I missed?)... we tend to have one thing in common and that is reverence for the Earth and Nature. We spend time in the rivers and streams cleansing our souls, get solace and energy from trees and read the clouds for symbols... I mean who doesn't turn to nature for relaxation and rejuvenation?

"Get Away" Working and Hot Foot Jar

I've had some requests to provide information about my personal "Get Away" Working. So here it is! I've had phenomenal results with this Service.

This is to be used when someone is extremely disruptive or disrespectful to your home when you have a bad roommate who needs to leave when a family member or neighbor is meddling in your life. This is not to be used lightly. It is a form of defensive magick and should be used with care and respect in serious situations when your life is being affected negatively.

Saint Peter

Saint Peter’s Feast Day is June 29th. His day of the week is Tuesday. His emblem is two crossed keys. His candle colors are red & white.

He may be petitioned for success in any endeavor, removing obstacles, better business, strength & courage, forgiveness of hurts, good luck & fortune, and miracles of compassion.

Many people also petition Saint Peter for success in artistic ventures as well as overcoming addictions. He also acts to resolve conflicts and dish out justice in moral matters.

Spirit Money in History and Modern Use

Archaeological evidence of Spirit Money is dated back to 1000 BC. It has historically been found in the tombs of wealthy individuals in the form of imitation metal coins. The use of Spirit money is heavily steeped in Asian cultures and was originally derived from a mix of Taoism and regional folk practices. This modern version of the ancient tool is a modification on the traditional use of joss paper. Joss paper is an afterlife monetary paper used in traditional Chinese ancestor veneration.

Saint Anne

In the East, she is celebrated on the Sunday before the Nativity of the Virgin Mary, September 8th.

Her day of the week is Monday & her primary color is white, although many associate yellow and green with her as well.

Saint Philomena

Saint Philomena’s candle color is green, pink or light blue. Her offerings include sweet cakes, pink cakes, pink lemonade, candies, sweet drinks, colas, toys, red and white braided ropes, pink flowers (lots & lots of flowers!), lilies, perfumes (especially anais anais perfume), make-up, pastel silks, glitter, rosaries, pastel-colored jewelry, marshmallows and French pastries.

Her emblems are anchors, palms, lilies, and arrows. Her day of the week is Saturday.

Her cult has survived for many years and she is believed to have the largest amount of miracles ascribed to her
